Are you Sulfate-Free?

I have a hate/hate relationship with my hair. No matter what I do with it, I am unhappy. Over the years it has become so fine and thin for no apparent reason. So I have done a lot of studying and experimenting (and even tried some downright painful things) to try and fatten up my hair. Along the way I learned that we all should be using shampoo, conditioner and product that is free of sulfate and other salts. Not only do they dry out and damage your hair but they clog your hair follicles and make your color fade faster. And, if you find your hair is thinning, sulfates will speed the process. So I wanted to share with you my top three picks for Sulfate free products:

1. A shampoo/conditioner/serum line that my dermatologist has created and is in the final stages of testing so that it can go on the market. It is an awesome line that has helped me get volume and fullness back in my hair. Unfortunately not available to the general public yet.

2. Any of the Pureology line. They have various formulations but are a little pricey. My favorite is the pink bottle which is the volumizing formula. This line is really great especially if you color your hair. You will find your color lasts 2-3 times longer when using this product. The best place I have found to purchase it is Ulta near South Towne mall.

3. L'Oreal Paris just came out with a new line called EverPure. It is being marketed as a 'Color Care System' but being sulfate free is going to be great for anyone worried about fine or thinning hair. It is also reasonably priced and available almost anywhere.

There's my wisdom. Do with it what you will.

I'm sorry to say this, but I have the opposite problem. I really have too much hair. I know a lady who shaves the bottom half of her hair because she has too much to. I've debated doing that. I get my hair thinned when I get it cut. It takes me 40 minutes to blow dry and style and I'm still unhappy with it. Anyway, thanks for the other tips. I could use the colorstay stuff.
