Double the Surgery- Double the Fun!

Tyler had his one retained ear tube removed and Trevor had bilateral ear tubes placed this morning at Alta View Hospital. Boy was it fun! I got Trevor checked in at 7 a.m. and Brad checked Tyler in at 7:10. They shared a pre-op room and Brad and I had fun watching the pre-op Versed take effect. Trevor would make a hilarious drunk! All was fine until Trevor came out from his surgery. They put babies under anesthesia and then take them back out so fast that their little bodies just don't know what to make of it. He spent a good 20-30 minutes screaming like I have never heard and thrashing around with strength like a super-hero. I don't think he even recognized us! Brad had to hold him because he was just too strong for me. When Tyler came out it was a whole different story. He was asleep in a little crib- opened his eyes, looked and me and asked when they were going to take his ear tubes out. He was asleep again before I could tell him they were already done. He woke up without any trouble and loved that they would give him all the cookies, crackers and juice he wanted! I'm glad it's over with and hope to never have to do a double surgery day again!
