Field trip & good food

Yesterday I went on my first ever field trip as a chaperone. Tyler was so excited to have me come with him and all the other Kindergartners to the zoo. I almost cried though when I saw the name of one of the three boys I was assigned to watch. From my time spent helping in the classroom I knew this child was a little rambunctious and easily distracted. In fact, I had asked the teacher to move Tyler off the table that same kid sits at a few months back because I felt that Tyler was having a hard time paying attention because of this child's antics. Anyway, I survived a 5-hour excursion although it felt like I had chased 12 kids instead of just three. The weather was absolutely perfect for the zoo- it wasn't too hot, there was a slight breeze and as a result many of the animals were active. It was fun. I remembered to take my camera but had left the battery in the charger at home so there are no pictures to post!

This is what we had for dinner tonight- it's mini cheesy meatloafs on top of mashed potatoes with roasted broccoli. You may remember that I made a goal to try new recipes this year and this is one of them. My family loved it and it just turned out so good looking. I don't know why the picture is so washed out but is sure was yummy!
